If you're operating your Saturday like the rest of us you're likely doomscrolling through your socials while snowflakes zip past your window at an impressive clip, working in concert, determined to further bury your car, your driveway and your patio furniture. Erieites are pretty tough when it comes to this sort of weather but Ma Nature is really hitting us all below the belt this time.
We closed wicked early yesterday after seeing a handful of wonderful people, some even caught Mario's replay of the 1992 WWF Royal Rumble when Ric Flair won! But we should have just stayed home probably. So we're staying closed today and most likely tomorrow unless conditions improve. We aren't the only small biz in Erie taking this direction - our favorite coffee shops, barbecue restaurants, even the staple State Street bars that never close.
So yeah, the weather is nutsy. But also we implore you to think about this weekend and what it means to the small biz community. Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are days we all gear up for and plan special promotions around because as a retailer we need that revenue bump from dumpy November into gift-driven December. Consider your spending habits in the next few days and weeks, the small biz community in our town will need your help...I know we will.
The easiest way to help? Gift cards. At this point every transaction helps and when we're collectively looking at a potential zero revenue kick-in-the-nuts instead of the usual post-holiday weekend, we're all going to feel a big ass budgetary pinch. Seek out your favorite shop's website or contact them via social media (believe me, they aren't doing anything today) to pick up a gift card or e-gift card you can spend later. It's important.
We'll see you once the plows take back the streets.
