If you recently visited our taproom on a Thursday you probably had a chance to partake in one of our Benevolent Beers events. We hold these between 5:00 and 8:00pm where we slice off a piece of our revenue and donate it to an area nonprofit. This program is our way of giving back to the community that helped us through the craziness and stress of the pandemic.
We had a record year in 2023, donating more than ever before. Considering how much the economy has shaken some budgets with high inflation this means a heck of a lot more than the face value. We’re happy to support our local nonprofits – they employ a lot of our friends and neighbors plus provide valuable services to our community.
In 2023 we handed out $4,778.80 to 33 different organizations, over $1,000 more than in 2022. What we can’t really quantify is the impact of friendraising that occurred here during these events. The beauty of hosting different groups is our regular customer base gets exposed to new nonprofits, which can benefit them financially down the road. This mission becomes more of a relationship-builder than a funding engine in some respects, something we’re happy to provide too!
Thank you to the community for supporting these great groups throughout the year – we’re hopeful to beat these numbers in 2024.
