Three Years’ Worth

Build-out Update

Erie Ale Works Garage Door

Brewing a test batch at 416 West 12th.

This month marks the third anniversary of this brewery project’s inception. Steve and I were sitting on our back patio with our buddy Ben tossing the idea around of actually doing this for a living. Fast-forward 36 months – equipment has been purchased, we have obtained our PLCB brewery license and in a short 30 days, should (should) have much more to look at inside 416 West 12th Street.

We took possession of our brewery space in March and began the slow process of organizing all the paperwork necessary to open a business in the City of Erie, that included some fun architect plans and applicable permits.

So, three years’ worth of planning and waiting is finally coming to an end to get this thing off the ground. It’s been worth the wait so far and we’ll be excited to share our beer with the Erie community that’s already supported us so much. Look for further updates in the next few weeks, because IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING!

Events

You may have spotted us at the Erie Microbrew Fest in April, where we debuted our new t-shirt design and our Ordinary Bitter named GUTTERBALL. Some upcoming events:

  1. Monday, June 16th – Crime Victim Center’s Microbrew Golf Outing, Lakeshore Country Club. If you want to play, visit their registration page and sign up.
  2. Saturday, July 26th – Beer on the Bay. Purchase tickets here.
  3. TBD – OPENING OF ERIE ALE WORKS – yeah we can’t predict exactly what day, but we’ll let you know for sure.

May the beer be with you,
Jeff
